In September 2019, Maria was hired by eCivis to provide service to tribal clients. This service is putting the focus on the hurdles Tribes face in grants management with the outcome resulting in the success of their funding and projects. Maria is a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and has served in a service capacity to tribes as a grant resource since 2007. Maria began working for the Chickasaw Nation in 2007 where she served in the finance division before advancing to the Nation's office of management and budget as program analyst for grant compliance and management. She then advanced to manager of grant compliance and monitoring for the compliance division. In 2015, she transferred to the department of community services where she serves as the director of project support. This position oversees the management of grants including compliance and monitoring. Maria also holds the Certified Grants Management Specialist (CGMS) credential from NGMA.
